The Chair of ISDI Food Additives WG was recently an invited speaker to a USDA Bangkok capacity-building workshop titled: Good Regulatory Practices (GRP)- Tools to Effectively Achieve Thailand’s Policy Goals. Ms. Bradley discussed Use of Food Additives in Early Life, explaining and demonstrating with experimental results that the use of selected additives in specialized infant food matrices is technologically necessary and also self-limiting regarding amounts required. Aspects of labelling, risk assessment and the importance of strengthening food safety in this sector were discussed.
