ISDI Webinar: Food Additives in Infant Formula – A journey through the technological need and evaluation of safety
Food additives play a vital role in manufacturing safe, high quality formulas for infants. The Codex Alimentarius process for the authorisation of additives in infant formula is robust and ensures a science-based risk assessment to ensure their use in these products is safe for the sensitive infant population.
Upon the publication of the ISDI brochure on the ‘Use of additives in infant formula and formulas for special medical purposes intended for infants’, ISDI invites you to attend our expert webinar ‘Food Additives in Infant Formula: A journey through the technological need and evaluation of safety’ on 19 April (15.00-16.30 CEST / 9.00-10.30 EST).
The online event will:
- Provide a clear understanding of the approval process for food additives in infant formula
- Demonstrate that the procedure is aligned to the Codex principles governing the use of food additives, including consideration of the technological need in these specific products
- Show that additives are essential and safe for use in infant formula
The event will be moderated by Marian Brestovansky, ISDI Deputy Head, and Céline Benini, ISDI Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Manager, with presentations by four expert speakers.
The presentations will last for approximately one hour and will be followed by questions from the audience.
This event is open to ISDI members, Codex delegates and Codex observers only. Registration is free but mandatory. If you are interested in joining the event, please email us at secretariat@isdi.org.
